How to register
- Create a free College Board account and register at mysat.collegeboard.org. Students register themselves.
- Choose your date and select Bloomingdale International School, Vijayawada (centre code 61603). Vijayawada has more than one centre listed, so check the name and code.
- Use your full name exactly as it appears on the passport or Aadhaar you will bring on test day.
- One to five days before the test, complete exam set-up in the Bluebook app. This creates your admission ticket.
College Board, not BIS, runs SAT registration, fees and scoring.
What is the digital SAT?
The SAT is taken on a laptop or tablet in College Board’s Bluebook app: Reading and Writing (64 minutes) and Math (70 minutes), with a 10-minute break. Each section adapts to how a student does in its first part, and scores run from 400 to 1600. A calculator is allowed throughout Math, and Bluebook has one built in. Bluebook runs on Windows and Mac laptops, iPads and school-managed Chromebooks, but not on personal Chromebooks or phones. Install it early and try the free full-length practice tests inside it.
How BIS prepares its students
University counselling at BIS starts in Grade 8, when students are introduced to the PSAT and SAT. BIS also runs College Board’s PSAT tests on campus. In the IB Diploma Programme, counsellors help each student plan SAT dates around the application deadlines of the universities on their list. BIS is the only IB World School in Andhra Pradesh offering the full IB continuum, from Early Years to the IB Diploma.

SAT seats are booked through College Board, not through the school. When you register, choose Bloomingdale International School, Vijayawada (centre code 61603); the registration system shows whether seats are available on your chosen date.
US$111 (a US$68 registration fee plus a US$43 international fee), plus any GST College Board adds at checkout. Late registration adds US$38. College Board charges in US dollars, so the rupee amount depends on the exchange rate, and fees for 2027 dates may change.
A valid passport, or Aadhaar as the PVC card or the original government-issued letter. Photocopies, printouts, screenshots and e-Aadhaar are not accepted. The full name on the ID must exactly match the name used to register, or your child will not be admitted.
A charged laptop or tablet with the Bluebook app set up, the admission ticket, photo ID, pencils or pens for rough work and their College Board login. Phones, smartwatches and earbuds are collected or kept away from the desk; using one at any time, even during the break, can cancel scores.
College Board can lend a device if you request it at least 30 days before test day. When registering, answer that you don’t know if you have access to the necessary device, then use Request a device in My SAT. A teacher, counsellor or school administrator must confirm eligibility, and approval is not guaranteed. Personal Chromebooks and phones cannot run Bluebook.
College Board’s India Scholars Program has offered discount vouchers to Class XI and XII students: 90% off for family income under ₹8 lakh a year and 50% off for ₹8–15 lakh. Check on College Board’s site that the programme is open before you register.
In India, universities such as Ashoka, FLAME, Plaksha, Krea and Mahindra University use SAT scores in admissions, each in its own way. Abroad, it is used mainly by universities in the United States. Policies change, so check each university’s admissions page.
