What to bring, and the rules in the room
What to bring
A charged laptop or tablet with the Bluebook app set up, the admission ticket, photo ID, pencils or pens for rough work and your College Board login.
ID that works in India
A valid passport, or Aadhaar as the PVC card or the original government-issued letter.
ID that doesn’t
Photocopies, printouts, screenshots and e-Aadhaar are not accepted.
Names must match
The full name on the ID must exactly match the name used to register, or the student will not be admitted.
Phones and smart devices
Phones, smartwatches and earbuds are collected or kept away from the desk. Using one at any time, even during the break, can cancel scores.
No suitable laptop?
College Board can lend a device if you request it at least 30 days before test day: answer that you don’t know if you have access to the necessary device, then use Request a device in My SAT. A teacher, counsellor or school administrator must confirm eligibility, and approval is not guaranteed.
How BIS counsellors help
University counselling at BIS starts in Grade 8, when students are introduced to the PSAT and SAT. BIS also runs College Board’s PSAT tests on campus.
In the IB Diploma Programme, counsellors help each student plan when to sit the SAT around the application deadlines of the universities on their list.
