Celebrating Superheroes: Father's Day at Bloomingdale International Play School – Village Campus

There is something truly magical about watching a father's face light up the moment his child runs to him. That magic filled every corner of Bloomingdale International Play School's Village Campus this Father's Day, as we threw open our doors to honour the most important heroes in our little ones' lives their dads.

A Morning Full of Love

The Village Campus was buzzing with excitement from the very first moment families arrived. The outdoor garden, strung with cheerful paper lanterns in every colour, set the tone perfectly festive, warm, and full of life. Little ones, dressed in their finest, could barely contain their excitement as they waited to surprise their fathers with something they had been working on all week.

Crafts, Cards, and Fingerprints on the Heart

Inside the classrooms, fathers and children gathered around tiny tables a heartwarming contrast of big hands and small ones as they worked together on handmade Father's Day cards. Teachers guided the families through the activity, helping children make their thumbprint hearts and write their very first messages to dad. The expressions on the fathers' faces as they received their handmade gifts were worth a thousand words some beamed, some went quiet, and a few looked suspiciously misty-eyed.

"My Hero, My Dad"

One of the most loved moments of the morning was the special Happy Father's Day photo frame set up at the entrance. Families queued up happily to step inside the beautifully crafted frame decorated with hearts, hand-drawn dads, and the words "My Hero, My Dad" for a keepsake photograph. The smiles in those frames said it all. Playtime in the Garden

The celebrations weren't confined to the classroom. The lush garden at Village Campus became a playground of pure joy as fathers chased their little ones down the slide, strolled the green lawns, and simply soaked in the rare gift of unhurried time with their children. Watching a father steady his little girl on a slide, his eyes never leaving her face — that was Father's Day in its truest form.

Sharing Stories

A special highlight of the event was a candid interactive session where children spoke about their dads into the microphone — and what they said left the entire room laughing and clapping. From "My daddy can fix anything!" to "He lets me eat extra biscuits!" the answers were pure, unfiltered love. Fathers listened with the kind of pride that no trophy could replicate.

A Celebration of Every Kind of Dad

What made this celebration especially beautiful was the presence of not just fathers, but grandfathers, uncles, and father figures all welcomed into the BIS family. Group photographs captured generations together, with children sitting proudly in front, flanked by the men who shape their world.

A Note from Our Heart

At Bloomingdale International Play School, we believe that a child's earliest years are shaped not just by what they learn in the classroom, but by the bonds they experience at home. Fathers play an irreplaceable role in that journey — as protectors, playmates, storytellers, and safe harbours.

This Father's Day, we simply wanted to say: Thank you, Dads. You are seen. You are celebrated. You are loved. Here's to every father who shows up, day after day, in small and mighty ways.
