Our MYP1 student makes history as one of Andhra Pradesh's youngest qualified pistol shooters

At an age when most children are still discovering their passions, Shanmukha, our MYP1 student at Bloomingdale International School, has already set his sights on the national stage and hit the mark with remarkable precision.

We are thrilled and immensely proud to announce that Shanmukha has qualified for the National Championship in the 10m Air Pistol event, following a stellar performance at the Hyderabad Andhra Pradesh State Meet. At just 10 years and 1 month of age, he is among the youngest pistol shooters from Andhra Pradesh to earn this prestigious qualification a milestone that speaks volumes about his focus, maturity, and exceptional talent.

A Score That Speaks for Itself

At the State Meet, Shanmukha delivered a composed and commanding performance, registering an impressive score of 347 out of 400 good enough to secure qualification not in one, but in two categories:

  1. Youth Men Individual
  2. Sub Youth Men Individual

Qualifying in both categories at a single championship is no small feat. It is a reflection of a young athlete who doesn't just compete he excels.

A Champion in the Making

Pistol shooting demands a unique blend of mental discipline, physical steadiness, and emotional control qualities that are rare even in seasoned athletes, let alone in a 10-year-old. Shanmukha's journey to the nationals is a testament to his extraordinary dedication and the incredible support he has received from his family and coaches.

His achievement also carries a significance beyond the personal as one of the youngest shooters from Andhra Pradesh to qualify for a National Championship, Shanmukha is not just representing his school and family, but his entire state.
