IBDP 1 and 2 CAS Initiative: Krishna River Bank Cleaning Dri

IBDP 1 and 2 CAS Initiative: Krishna River Bank Cleaning Drive & Awareness Campaign - 27th December 2025

As part of their Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) learning journey, students of IBDP Year 1 and Year 2 of Bloomingdale International School undertook a purposeful and impactful Krishna River Bank Cleaning Drive and Community Awareness Campaign. This initiative aimed not only to contribute to environmental conservation but also to foster the values of responsibility, empathy, leadership, and active citizenship among learners.

During the drive, students worked diligently to clean the riverbank area, remove waste materials, and support cleanliness around the ghat. More importantly, they engaged meaningfully with the local community, spreading awareness about environmental protection and responsible behavior towards natural resources.

To make the message more powerful and locally relatable, students created meaningful slogans and awareness boards. They wrote:

“Save the River, Save the Life” “Do Not Pollute the River”

They also prepared messages in Telugu to connect deeply with the community and ensure inclusiveness and wider understanding:

“నీరు ఉంటే జీవితం ఉంది – నది కాపాడండి” “నది చెత్త బండి కాదు – కాలుష్యం చేయకండి”

These student-led messages highlighted the significance of environmental care, plastic-free living, and the idea of Faith with Responsibility, reminding everyone that true devotion also includes protecting nature.

This experience enabled students to demonstrate several IB Learner Profile attributes such as Caring, Principled, Communicators, Reflective, and Balanced individuals. It reinforced the belief that small actions, when taken with sincerity, can inspire meaningful change.
